Introduction
Overpacking is common when excessive or unneeded components, features, or embellishments are incorporated into a product, exceeding what is considered essential or tasteful. I redesigned Dior cotton bud packaging to make it reusable and recyclable.

Ideation: Mind mapping and Forced Morphology
To make the Dior cotton pad packaging more sustainable, reusable, and recyclable, I brainstormed ideas and potential solutions using techniques like mind mapping and forced morphology.

Sketches
Ideation: Package Elevation
After making initial sketches, I reviewed them and decided to ideate more to enhance and create excitement for the overall concept.
Notable ideas
- Add an exploding box with ribbon (unique packaging style)
- Dior signature four-wall box opens up a surprise: the product
- Add color and glitter to the box design
- Limited-edition cotton pads that have Gold cotton pads in them
- Customized packaging for exclusivity
- Add premium cards to events (scavenger hunt)
Final Prototype
The final prototype for the packaging is an external protective bag that reduces the current carton packaging and is reusable. The cotton pads are inside an exploding box, which adds excitement to the reveal. The cotton pads are enveloped in a reusable Dior duffle bag and packaged in a transparent bag. The gift is in a 3-way detachable pack.
